We would like to thank all the Guests who came out to listen to motivational speaker Theo Fleury.  His dynamic inspirational talk sharing his personal life story of resilience, hope, strength and courage as a former NHL player was shared with approximately 500 people at the Merritt Civic Centre on February 13, 2014. The message of hope Theo Fleury gave to the people was, no matter how challenging life becomes to never give up, don’t quit before the miracle and to treat others with love, peace and kindness.

Celebrate Indigenous Athletes Heading to Sochi

(Ottawa, ON) – Assembly of First Nations (AFN) National Chief Shawn A-in-chut Atleo today expressed support for all athletes competing in the XXII Olympic Games in Sochi, Russia, including the Indigenous athletes on Team Canada.

“On behalf of First Nations peoples across this country, we wish our Indigenous athletes all the best as they head into the 2014 Olympic Games,” said AFN National Chief Shawn Atleo.   “Their role as individuals, as athletes, as community members and as Olympians is so important to show all our peoples that success is real if we have the drive, the proper support and motivation.  We stand together in celebrating these great athletes and wish them well in their travels and in their competitions in Sochi!”
